      v2.5 Keyspan. USB to Serial adapter

      Point-of-Sale hardware setup

      Barcode scanner setup
      • MS-210U Unitech USB scanner
        • Just plug the reader into any available USB port
        • If Mac OS X asks you to indentify the Keyboard device, just Cancel the dialog and you will not be asked again.
        • Test the unit by opening TextEdit and scan any barcode
        • If it is not reading properly, scan the USB barcode on page 6 in the manual to ensure a USB device interface.
      • A powered USB hub is recommended for all USB devices
      Credit card reader setup
      • The credit card reader plugs into any open USB port.
      • If Mac OS X asks you to indentify the Keyboard device, just Cancel the dialog and you will not be asked again.
      • Test the unit by opening TextEdit and scan any credit card or gift card and card information should appear
      • A powered hub is recommended
      Receipt Printer setup
      • Star Micronics TSP Series printer
        • Plug the printer into any open USB port
        • A powered hub is recommended
        • Install the OS X printer drivers
        • Test print a receipt in MacPOSX
         
      • Star Micronics SP200-300 or other serial printer
        • A Keyspan US28X USB/Serial adapter is required
          • The Keyspan US18 single port adapter has been found to be incompatible with OS X!
        • Install the Keypsan US28 drivers linked at the left
        • Change the default printer in your preferences to Star SP212
        • Test print a receipt in MacPOSX

      Cash Drawer setup

      • The cash drawer plugs into the rear of the TSP printer
        • This is a small RJ11 connector like a phone plug
        • Don't plug this into your modem port
        • Setup the printer to ensure it will open the cash drawer
       

      Touch Screen LCD monitor

      • Install the drivers from the CD or download them using the link in the driver section on this page
      • Connect the video cable to your Mac
      • Connect the USB cable to a open USB port on your Mac and the monitor's USB connection
      • Restart your Mac
      • Test by selecting icons on your Desktop.
      • Confirm your mouse and keyboard function too
        • Do not connect the USB cable to your keyboard USB hub
      Intelligent Cash Drawer Setup
      • CB-001 M/S serial interface drawer
        • Plug the USA19H USB serial adapter into an open USB port.
        • Install the Keyspan driver provided on the CD.
        • Connect the power adapter to the cash drawer and connect the black serial DB9 cable to the back of the cash drawwer. Plug the other end into the USA19H serial adapter.
        • Start MacPOSx and open the Printing Preferences from the MacPOSx menu.
        • Select the Intelligent drawer option using the Drawer Code drop-down menu.
        • Click OK in the Preferences window and open the Sales window.
        • Add Control field #16 - Open Drawer to your layout, if it is not already present.
        • Click Control field #16 - Open Drawer to open the drawer.
      • A powered USB hub is recommended for all USB connections
